The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has inaugurated a new gatehouse and shuttle terminal.

The gatehouse consists of offices, kitchennete and washroom.

Apart from the entrance for vehicles, it has two pedestrian access ways including another for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The gatehouse was funded jointly by the Central Administration and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

Heritage Christian University (HCU) has commended the University of Cape Coast (UCC) for playing a critical role in the acquisition of Presidential Charter. 

With this milestone, HCU has become a fully-fledged university.

President of HCU, Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah, expressed appreciation when he led a delegation to visit the management of UCC. 

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology, in partnership with International Center for Research on Women, has launched Behind the Scenes Project (Btsproject Gh).

This project seeks to generate evidence and eliminate all ills against women in the creative space in Africa through a comprehensive multidisciplinary research and policy formulation.

A delegation from Share The Smile Ophelia Foundation (STSOF) led by its Global President, Mrs. Ophelia Damptey Asare, has paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.

Mrs. Damptey Asare, who is the wife of Ghana's High Commissioner to Kenya, was on campus to inform the Vice-Chancellor about the establishment of the Foundation.

A new leadership of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) branch of the Senior Staff Association Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) has been sworn into office for a four-year term.

The new executives are Mr. Christopher Aggrey, Chairman; Mr. Isaac Kweku Grantson, Vice-Chairman; Mr. Jacob Ewudzie, Secretary; Mr. Robert Mensah Essilfie, Trustee; Miss. Gifty Amewudah, Assistant Secretary; and Mrs.Winifred Twenewaa Addaney; Women’s Commissioner.

AI Seminar

Academics have been called upon to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their work while maintaining rigorous ethical standards. 

This call was made during a seminar organised by TAGDev 2.0 on the theme: Ethical Use of AI in Higher Education.

Agona_Nyakrom_orientation

An orientation programme has been held for fresh students admitted to the Agona Nyakrom campus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) for the 2024/2025 academic year. 

The satellite campus is hosting the pioneering cohort of freshers comprising students enrolled in the B.Sc. Nursing and B.Sc. Nutrition programmes.

Addressing the students, the Provost of the College of Distance Education (CoDE). Prof. Anokye Mohammed Adam, congratulated them on their admission to UCC.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS), University of Cape Coast has held a day’s orientation for its first year students.

The programme was aimed at orienting the students on the overview of the UCC PharmD programme, registration and examination issues, academic life on campus, relationships, dressing, how to study, amongst others.

A second-year PhD Accounting Education candidate at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Mr. Gideon Quansah, has embarked on a humanitarian mission to support inmates of the Ankaful Main Camp Prison.

The benevolent exercise forms part of the celebration of his birthday anniversary and falls under his foundation dubbed 'Gideon’s Charity Foundation'.
