The School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has taken delivery of a robotic patient (SimMan 3G) worth $180,000 to help students practice their diagnostic skills.

The SimMan 3G is a long-lasting patient simulator designed for high-quality simulation training in various medical procedures and patient scenarios.

Mr. Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye has been sworn into office as Registrar of the University of Cape Coast following his appointment by the University Council.

At a brief handover ceremony on Friday, November 1, 2024, Mr. Abbeyquaye said his vision was to “lead a dedicated team of administrators and professional staff providing an efficient support system to the Governing Council, Academic Board, and the Vice-Chancellor to achieve the overall institutional vision of becoming a globally acclaimed University.”

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organised the first International Partners’ Week Celebration on the theme, “Re-examining Our Historical Identity Within the Context of Internationalisation of Higher Education.”

The Directorate of Internal Audit at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been recognised with two significant awards.

The Director, Mr. Emmanuel P. Owusu, was recently honoured as the Best Internal Auditor by the Internal Audit Agency (IAA).

Also, the Directorate was adjudged the Best Internal Audit Unit in the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s Institutions category, further solidifying the Directorate’s reputation for excellence in audit practice.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has received advanced computer equipment from Mariset Company Limited, also known as M-Plaza. 

The items donated included five brand-new HP Prodesk desktop computers, one Computer UPS Smart system, nine Computer UPS units, and 14 Lenovo all-in-one computers.

Presenting the items, a Sales and Marketing Assistant at M-Plaza, Ms. Evalove Mensah, said the donation was to support teaching and learning in the school. 

The Breast Society of Ghana has launched its 12th Oguaa Breast Cancer Campaign at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) as part of its annual humanitarian activities. 

The campaign, which runs from October 14 to 19, 2024, features a series of activities aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness and prevention.

 It coincides with the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing awareness and encouraging women to prioritize their breast health.

The College of Education Studies has held a five-day retreat to review its existing Teacher Education curriculum for Senior and Vocational Schools to conform with the new Standards-Based Curriculum (SBC).

The introduction of the Standards-Based Curriculum is in response to reforms in the country's education sector which the government intends to introduce in Senior High schools in the next academic year.

The Women executives of the University of Cape Coast branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) have interacted with female students at the Imam Khomeini Islamic Junior High School at Amamoma to motivate them to achieve their career goals.

The occasion was on the theme: "Girls' Vision for the Future."

It was to highlight the importance of addressing issues such as gender inequality, child marriage and limited access to education and quality healthcare services.
