A delegation from the South Carolina University,USA headed by Dr. Mathew D. Guan the Dean of the College of Business and Information Systems,has concluded an official visit to the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

 The visit witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the School of Business of UCC and the College of Business and Information Systems of the South Carolina University. The agreement is aimed at promoting joint research activities including exchange of faculty members and research students.

Mr. Abanga Abdul-Karim Ibrahim, a level 200 non-residential Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, of the College of Distance Education (CoDE) has won the maiden Student Idea Business Challenge.

 Organised by the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) and Design Thinking and Innovation Hub (D-HUB), the competition was a platform for industry players to scout innovative ideas among students.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has highlighted measures being implemented to sanitise the downstream petroleum industry through the enforcement of industry regulations. 

That, according to the NPA, was to ensure a level playing field for all operators.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, said this at the maiden edition of the Gown and the Town Series organised by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

It was on the topic, "Downstream Petroleum Industry in Ghana; The State of Play."

An Emeritus Professor at Iowa State University, USA, Prof. Andrew Manu, is calling for the use of unmanned aerial systems (drone) for the expansion of rice production enterprise in the country.

He was optimistic that the use of drone technology to upscale rice production to sustain the sector.

Prof Manu made the remarks when he took his turn at the Research Seminar Series organised by the School of Agriculture of the University of Cape.

The Director-General of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) of University of Cape Coast, Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, has received in audience the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

The Minister was at the Institute to acquaint himself with the operations of IEPA since its elevation to the status of a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence for West Africa in 2021.

The Students' Financial Support Office (StuFSO) of University of Cape Coast (UCC), has organised an awardees' symposium for brilliant but needy students who are on the University’s Scholarship.

The event was aimed at building the capacity of the students to gain applicable knowledge and the soft skills necessary to develop the right mindset for excelling in the world of work.
