The selection committee of the Business Initiative Directions (BID), an organization working globally in the promotion and practical application of the Total Quality Management Models has selected ATL FM of the University of Cape coast to receive the World Quality Commitment award in the Gold Category.
The ceremony scheduled for Sunday October 16, 2016 in Paris, France is to recognise the contribution of ATL FM in terms of leadership, quality, innovation and excellence.
In a letter signed by the President of BID, Jose E. Prieto to the Management of ATL FM, it noted that, the decision to present the award is as a result of research and analysis carried out through quality hunters, leaders, entrepreneurs and experts in quality directed by BID.
The primary mission at BID is the recognition, education and promotion of quality culture among leaders of prominent companies and organizations.
BID does its part every year by promoting, producing and sponsoring conferences, seminars, publications and awards which highlight the ideas and accomplishments of those leaders that relate to the implementation of Total Quality Management.
BID leadership as global reference in the promotion of the Quality Culture is reinforced and reestablished every year, through special awards, designed to recognize the enormous effort put into play by the companies and institutions, leaders of their own fields, into the establishment and execution of Total Quality Models.
This continuous support provided by BID is accomplished taking into account and respecting unique quality criteria as defined by the demands and environment of each market in which businesses around the world operate.
The selection committee considered a criteria used in the QC 100 total quality management model which in conjunction with BID's quality mix technology, aims at strengthening Award recipients' position by way of leadership and growth.
Those nominated to receive the BID awards are selected through a process of consultation in which BID's Honorary Members, Pragmasters, Quality Ambassadors and Quality Hunters, participate, along with BID's panel of experts.

Excellence in leadership and management
Quality and excellence in products and services
Brand prestige or brand leadership in specific business areas
Innovation, development and technological production
Once the nominees considered to have developed Quality in an exceptional manner are selected, in one or more of these areas, the technical panel carries out an analysis of each organization or company, evaluating the following criteria:

- Benchmarking
- Information gathering and data analysis
