Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program

The CADFP offers short-term fellowships to African universities and African-born academics residing in the United States and Canada. The program funds collaborative projects of 14 to 90 days in the areas of curriculum co-development, graduate student teaching/mentoring and research. Projects are completed in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda. Accredited public and private universities are eligible in all host countries. A few notes to clarify the way the program works:

  • CADFP has a two-sided application process: a project request to be submitted by the African institution and a scholar application to be submitted by the African-born academic residing in the U.S. or Canada.

You can collaborate with a contact scholar in the United States of Canada on a project request. If you do not know a scholar, please contact the program staff at africandiaspora@iie.org and we can begin searching for an individual who meets your needs.
