University of Saskatchewan, Duquesne University seek stronger ties with UCC

The University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Duquesne University in the United States of America (USA) have indicated their readiness to build stronger academic ties with University of Cape Coast (UCC).

This came to light when delegations from the two institutions visited UCC to confer with its management.

The Academic Co-Lead, Global Health Certificate at the University of Saskatchewan, Prof. Jacob Alhassan, speaking at the meeting, said the purpose of the visit was to discuss possible areas of collaboration and train staff on research methods.

He said his outfit had an existing collaboration with the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) at UCC.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Project Coordinator at Duquesne University, Prof. David Frey, said his institution would like to collaborate with UCC on joint research and faculty exchanges.

He said his university would ensure that the collaboration yielded the desired results.

For his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, welcoming the delegation, said UCC was ready to partner with the two institutions.

He said UCC had high-quality faculty to ensure that the terms of the collaboration were implemented to benefit the two institutions.
