The University of Cape Coast (UCC) branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has held a dinner for members who have retired from active service.

The event, held at the New Examination Centre (NEC), brought together colleagues and friends to celebrate the contributions of retirees in an atmosphere filled with nostalgia, laughter, and gratitude.

The Institute of Education has donated science laboratory equipment valued at GH¢40,000 to the University Practice Senior High School (UPSHS), to enhance teaching and learning of science.

The donated equipment include:  a model human skeleton, eye, ear, heart, desiccator, dissecting set, slotted mass, pendulum, convex and concave lenses, resistance box, tuning fork, analogue voltmeter and analogue voltmeters, litmus papers and other instructional materials.

The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast has at an emergency meeting held yesterday September 24th, 2025 asked the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto to act in the interim as Vice Chancellor.

In a notice signed by the Secretary to Council and Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, Esq. said Council decided to abide by directives from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission's (GTEC). 

Exchange of MoU

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the Universite Joseph Ki-Zerbo (UJKZ) in Burkina Faso have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The two institutions have agreed to collaborate in the areas of exchange of faculty members and postgraduate students, joint research and supervision, participation in seminars and academic meetings.

KEEA farmers trained to Boost Vegetable Production and Climate Resilience

Farmers and Agricultural Extension Officers in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality have received training in modern farming skills and best practices designed to enhance vegetable production and strengthen resilience to climate change.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has received a delegation from the University of Cincinnati, USA.

The delegation, made up of faculty members and students, is in UCC to work on a project in research and engineering.

The faculty and students will work with Prof. Kwadwo Dompreh of the Department of Physics at UCC on Aquaponics and   Market pricing.

The rehabilitated College of Distance Education (CoDE) Study Centre at Domenase in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region has been commissioned.

Equipped with modern equipment, the Study Centre aims to bring university education closer to the doorstep of the people.

UCC Press

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) Press has donated stationery items to two basic schools within the University’s catchment area.

The schools are: Abakam Presbyterian M.A Basic School and Archbishop Amissah Memorial Catholic Basic School in Duakor.

The donation included exercise books, pens, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers to support teaching and learning in the beneficiary schools.
