The Breast Society of Ghana has launched its 12th Oguaa Breast Cancer Campaign at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) as part of its annual humanitarian activities. 

The campaign, which runs from October 14 to 19, 2024, features a series of activities aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness and prevention.

 It coincides with the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing awareness and encouraging women to prioritize their breast health.

The College of Education Studies has held a five-day retreat to review its existing Teacher Education curriculum for Senior and Vocational Schools to conform with the new Standards-Based Curriculum (SBC).

The introduction of the Standards-Based Curriculum is in response to reforms in the country's education sector which the government intends to introduce in Senior High schools in the next academic year.

The Women executives of the University of Cape Coast branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) have interacted with female students at the Imam Khomeini Islamic Junior High School at Amamoma to motivate them to achieve their career goals.

The occasion was on the theme: "Girls' Vision for the Future."

It was to highlight the importance of addressing issues such as gender inequality, child marriage and limited access to education and quality healthcare services.

The Ag. Registrar of the University, Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey has opened a three-day orientation for newly appointed Junior Assistant Registrars of the University of Cape Coast.

The training programme is aimed at building the capacities of the new cadre of administrative senior members on the University's policies, administrative procedures, and ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.

Students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have participated in the maiden Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo moot court competition at the Dr. Daniel McKorley Moot Courtroom at GIMPA Law School.

UCC won two awards, taking the best Memorial for the Republic and the best Respondent Oralist awards.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has held discussions with his counterpart at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), Prof. Letlhokwa Mpedi.

Prof. Mpedi’s visit was aimed at exploring avenues for academic cooperation between the two universities. 

The Centre for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation (CEGRAD) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organised a symposium to equip girls with the requisite knowledge to fight for their rights.

The symposium was on the theme: “Child Marriage and Adolescent Rights.”
