MDC team ends 4-day assessment visit to UCC SMS

The Medical and Dental Council (MDC) has concluded its assessment of training facilities and academic programmes of the University of Cape Coast School of Medical Sciences (UCCSMS).

During the visit, the MDC team met with Management of UCC and the faculty of SMS. 

At the conclusion of its mission, the team, led by Prof. Emmanuel Addo-Yobo, commended the good works of the UCCSMS and highlighted some challenges militating against the School.

The School of Business has organised the second edition of its Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) programme to engage with the corporate world.

The event was aimed at deepening the relationship between academia and industry to provide entrepreneurial and employment opportunities for students.

The University of Cape Coast Facultyof Law has held its10th Roll Call ceremony for newly admitted students for the 2022/23 academic year.

The Roll Call ceremony is an annual programme organised to induct fresh law students into the Faculty.

A total of 103 students took the oath of honour which was administered by His Lordship Justice Emmanuel Kofi Diaba, a High Court Judge in Cape Coast.

A delegation of faculty and students of Kirkhof College of Nursing at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), USA, are on a two-week visit to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to understudy Ghana’s Healthcare System.

At a briefing session to commence the visit on campus and other health facilities in Cape Coast, the Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery-UCC, Dr. Nancy Ebu Enyan, expressed her excitement to receive the team.

The Public Relations Officer for the Central Regional Police command, Supt. Irene Serwaa Oppong, has advised Ghanaian women to be cyber security conscious to avoid falling victim to the activities of cybercriminals. 

According to her, with the advancement and development of technology in the country, cybercriminals had taken undue advantage of the cyberspace to embark on fraudulent activities.

A group of 23 American students from the University of Cincinnati (UC), USA, are in the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on a one-week educational tour as part of their practical lessons.

The students, from the School of Engineering and the School of Business, will visit microfinance companies in Cape Coast, as well as tourist sites.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Development Programme for Innovative Agro-Production Technology using Big Data (DIB), Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea.

The agreement seeks to promote mutual cooperation and common interests in areas of shared benefits between DIB and UCC.

The Sam Jonah Library of University of Cape Coast has launched a Human Library Service (HLS), becoming the first library in Ghana to render such a service.

The Human Library is a scientific service in libraries across the globe designed to build positive framework for conversations through dialogue. It is a library where a person, instead of a book, is borrowed to listen to life stories.  The goal is to understand the different journeys taken in life and how to navigate an experience one is encountering.
